About me

Bonaventure is a DAAD PhD fellow in Physics at the University of Abomey-Calavi, Institute of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (IMSP) in Benin. His research is mainly based on computing physical properties of materials based on solar energy, using the frameworks of Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Many-Body Perturbation Theory under the supervision of Prof. Daniel P. Joubert (University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa).  In his research, he is using the Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package (VASP), phonopy and phono3py. Previously, Bona graduated from Stellenbosch University (SU) and African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Cape Town (South Africa, 2016). He is also an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Burundi in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences. In addition to his research activities, Bona is currently President of East Africa Students Community in PortoNovo, Benin and a founding member of a National Young Academy http://www.burundiyoungscientists.bi/
